Setting Hazardous Materials in Mango Mapping

Introduction

Managing hazardous materials (hazmats) for your fleet is important to ensuring safety and compliance on the road. In RMA, you can easily set up hazmat classifications under the Truck Class settings, which will help the routing software automatically avoid restricted roads based on the materials you are carrying.

 

Setup

Steps to Set Hazmats under Truck Class

  1. Access the Truck Class Settings: Open the software application and navigate to the Truck Class settings. This is found under Lists > Truck Information > Truck Class. 1726862689982
  2. Locate the Shipped Hazardous Goods Section: In the Truck Class window, find the section labeled Shipped Hazardous Goods. This section allows you to specify the type of hazardous materials the truck is carrying. This can be found under the Advanced Optimization tab.1726862835314
  3. Select Hazardous Materials:
    • Click on the dropdown menu within the Shipped Hazardous Goods section.1726862904586
    • You can select up to six hazardous material types from the following options:
      • Explosive
      • Gas
      • Flammable
      • Combustible
      • Organic
      • Poison
      • Radio Active
      • Corrosive
      • Poisonous Inhalation
      • Harmful to Water
      • Other
  4. Apply the Settings:
    • After selecting the appropriate hazmats, apply the settings by saving or confirming your selections within the Truck Class window.1726862971374
  5. Impact on Routing:
    • The system, using Here Maps, will automatically restrict the truck from using roads that have specific hazmat restrictions based on the selected materials. This ensures compliance with regulations and enhances route safety.
Summary

To set up hazmats, simply go to the Truck Class settings, find the Shipped Hazardous Goods section, and select the appropriate hazmat types from the dropdown menu. You can choose up to six types, and the system will handle the rest by rerouting trucks away from restricted roads.
