"Navigation to the webpage was canceled" PDF Error V8
Overview
When opening a PDF within RMA, some users may receive a "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" message.
This can be caused by multiple different things. Review the following steps to check each possible cause for a resolution.
Causes
Postscript Printer in Error State
Driver for postscript is not a postscript driver
Postscript printer not set in local settings
No default PDF application set for system
PDF viewer has subscription pop up window that needs acknowledged
PDF viewer had recent update which reset the file associations settings
ResolutionsPostscript Printer in Error State
- Pull up the Printers and Devices window.
- Locate the RM_Postscript printer that is being used.
- Click on "Open Queue" or "See what's printing."
- Confirm no documents are in error state or stuck.
- If there are documents, clear/delete the pending items.
Driver for Postscript is not a Postscript Driver
- Under Printers and Devices, locate the RM_Postscript printer.
- Select "Manage"
- Select "Printer Properties"
- Select "Advanced"
- Confirm the Driver has a PS driver assigned.
- If one is not assigned, recreate the postscript printer or assign an available PS driver.
Postscript Printer not set in Postscript Settings
- Go to File>Local Settings.
- Select the "Printers" tab.
- Confirm that the Postscript printer has a RM_Postscript printer assigned.
- If one is not assigned, assign a PS printer.
- Also confirm that no other printers are set to the RM_Postscript printer in any other field.
No Default PDF Application Set
- Go to "Default Apps" on your system.
- Select the "Choose default apps by file type"
3. Locate the ".pdf" option.
4. Confirm that a valid PDF application is set as the default.
5. If one is not set, select a PDF reader.
PDF Viewer has Subscription Pop Up Window that needs Acknowledged
- Open your PDF viewer.
- See if there is a subscription pop up window as soon as you open it.
- If one pops up, you will need to acknowledge the window or close it in order for it not to affect RMA invoices.
PDF Viewer had Recent Update which Reset the File Associations Settings (Foxit)
- Open the PDF viewer.
- Go to File>Preferences.
- Locate the File associations tab.
- Select the "Restore File Associations" option.
5. Go through the prompts and select yes to restore.
6. Once restored, close out of the PDF viewer and reopen.
7. If the prompt continues, go through the process and select yes.
8. Close out of the PDF viewer and restart RMA.
