Logging into Route Manager is Really Slow V8

Overview

Is there a fix for a slow login problem?

Symptoms

  • Slow startup process and seems to hang at splash screen.
  • Login screen seems slow.
  • Local settings is very slow to: load, modify, and save.

Cause

If you have all or some of these symptoms, then you could have a corrupt RM2000.INI file.

Resolution

  • Check your windows directory (or on Remote Desktop, your Users\Windows directory) for the RM2000.INI. If it is larger than 3500 bytes, then you may have an issue.
  • Try renaming the RM2000.INI to RM2000.BAK and login to see if this speeds up RM2000. If this speeds up RM2000, then make appropriate corrections of your Local Settings (as doing this will clear them!) and you are done.
