Meter Capture in MOM: Managing Contract Overage Efficiently
The Meter Capture screen in MOM is designed to help when a driver manually enters a quantity that goes beyond the remaining gallons on a customer’s contract. This feature ensures accuracy in billing and inventory by automatically creating an overage line item if needed. It is especially useful for customers with contracts, warning them when they exceed the agreed amount of gallons.
This applies specifically to customers on a contract, ensuring they are warned when they exceed the contracted amount.

Contracts for Pre Buy Gallons (Propane)
Setup
Before using this feature, make sure you've set up your Pre Buy Contracts. You can find more details in the Pre Buy Contracts Setup article.
How It WorksRestrict Gallons Setting
- Setting: Restrict Gallons = True
- What it does: This setting stops the driver from selling more gallons than what’s left on the contract. MOM will automatically limit the preset amount to what’s remaining.
Driver Input for Overage
- What happens: The driver enters the quantity they want. If it exceeds the gallons left on the contract, MOM steps in with a prompt.

Prompt Message
- Condition: When the entered quantity is more than the remaining gallons.
- Message:
"Quantity input has exceeded the remaining gallons available on the contract. A new line item will be created for [product] at the [price]. Would you like to proceed with the entered quantity?"

What Happens Next
- If Yes: MOM accepts the quantity, creates a new line for the extra amount, and includes the product and price.

- If No: MOM adjusts the entered quantity back to the preset amount (the remaining contract gallons)..
How It Works in Practice
- Preset Quantity: MOM automatically calculates the remaining gallons and displays this as the preset amount.

- Overage Line Item: Only created if the driver confirms they want to go beyond the contract limit.

- Revert Option: If the driver chooses not to proceed, MOM reverts the quantity to the contract limit, preventing any extra charges.
