How to Stop ARSBackup while Backing Up V8

This applies to: RM, ARSBackup

Overview

How to stop ARS Backup while it’s in the process of backing up.

Symptoms

There are 2 ways to fix this problem:

1. Restart the server (the main computer that has Route Manager on it and also has ARSBackup on it.) Recommended

2. If you are unable to restart and you need to stop the backup process manually:

• Go to your task manager (ctrl+alt+del) or (right click on taskbar then go to Task Manager)

3. Then go to processes and end process to any of the following programs that are running:

1. Arsbackup.exe

2. cygwin.exe

3. rsync.exe

4. ssh.exe

5. cmd.exe

6. runx.bat (Should be a cmd window)

4. If the task you are trying to stop was an automated task (using the automated backup feature, not the “Backup Now” button). You should go to the Automated Tasks area under Control Panel on your computer, find the ARS Backup task and right click on it and select “End Task” if possible. If that option is disabled, that is fine, you don’t need to do anything further.
